Before joining Direct Response, Mark retired from the West Midlands Police following 30 years of exemplary service as a detective constable.

For the majority of his policing career Mark was engaged with teams of detectives investigating the most serious criminality, not only in the West Midlands but nationally and internationally, working with foreign agencies and police forces.

Earlier in his career Mark was employed in a number of successful local burglary reduction initiatives whilst based at a variety of locations across the Midlands. This experience has provided him with a wealth of knowledge in dealing with both criminals and the victims of this type of crime.

Richard joined Direct Response after 30 years exemplary service in the second largest police force in the UK.

Richard was a Senior Investigating Officer in the rank of Detective Inspector at Birmingham South Public Protection Unit. His role there included responsibility for the management and investigation of major crime perpetrated against vulnerable children and adults in South Birmingham. Prior to that Richard held the rank of Detective Inspector in the Criminal Investigation Department. There he was responsible for investigations into the most serious criminal offences; including those of homicide, robbery and burglary. He has vast experience of working in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations to reduce crime and make communities safer. Richard also worked for a number of years leading effective and impartial investigations into complaints against the police.
